All change with Going Forward
18 May 2022
Hi everyone, my name is Laura. Most of you will know that I’m not new to Fast Forward however, I’m new to the Going Forward Project.
Back in January, on the back of the Going Forward Project going from strength to strength I started to work alongside Donald to support with the delivery of the project within East Lothian.
I’ve really enjoy working alongside Donald and I’m sadden to learn that Fast Forward will be losing such an amazing Project Office as Donald will be moving from the organisation. I would like to take a moment to wish Donald all the best (not that he will need it) and I’m sure our working path will cross again in the near future – it’s been a blast, thank for all the support!
I’ve been responsible for Fast Forward’s tobacco prevention education project, since 2014, predominately working with P7 pupils, youth workers, teachers as well as parents and guardians encouraging them to make informed and health choices around tobacco and smoking (including the use of e-cigarettes). I’ll continue to bring my knowledge and experience of this to my work at Fast Forward.
Looking ahead to the future I’m exciting to take the opportunity of being able to support the Going Forward project whilst also being able to deliver sessions on a wide range of health and wellbeing and risk taking behaviour topics which are at the forefront of young people lives in 2022!
Going Forward sessions are designed to encourage young people to be more responsible and active citizens by enabling individuals to consider the consequences of engaging in risk-taking behaviour, both for themselves, and for their wider local community.
