An A+ in Gambling Awareness for Dumfries & Galloway’s new Ambassadors
16 July 2025

The Active Campus Network is a partnership between sportscotland, Scottish Student Sport and Colleges Scotland. Made up of 18 colleges across Scotland, the network consists of 18 Active Campus Coordinators committed to putting sport and physical activity at the centre of college life by giving students across the country the opportunity to get active.
The Active Campus network aims to identify and support a network of volunteers to deliver sport and physical activity for college students.
Our team hit the road and headed South, to add gambling harm support to their list of services and their feedback was brilliant!
“At Dumfries and Galloway College, our Active Campus initiative is proud to introduce our student and staff volunteers as Gambling Awareness Ambassadors. These ambassadors will be visible across campus, ready to signpost students to appropriate support services and offer a listening ear when needed.”
“The interactive training delivered by Fast Forward was both engaging and impactful—it resonated strongly with our new ambassadors. It has equipped them with the knowledge and confidence to support fellow students who may be struggling with gambling-related challenges. If even one person benefits from this, it will be a success.”
“As an Active Campus volunteer, Gambling Ambassador, and newly elected Vice President of the Student Association, I found the training incredibly valuable. It’s given me the confidence to approach difficult conversations, offer support, and know where to signpost students for further help.”
“Take the chance on change—find support, and understand how gambling can affect not just you, but those around you.” – Karen
