Chief Exec’s Week
12 December 2012
Hi , I’m Alastair and I’m the Chief Executive of Fast Forward. Variety, they say, is the spice of life …. and it certainly seems that way if I look over my last week and have a peek into the coming days!
In between the “must-dos” of the daily and weekly management tasks I’ve had some really interesting opportunities. High on the list was presenting to prospective funders from the Thinking Differently Fund along with my FF colleague Rona and Liz from Caledonia Youth. It was a real “challenge” ( one of my favourite words) to do a project proposal justice in a few Prezi slides and a Q & A – but great to get this opportunity – and we have all of our fingers crossed!
Excitement too as we announced that we will be sponsoring the YouthLink Scotland Peer Educator of the Year award (along with the Scottish Peer Education Network that we operate and support). Really looking forward to the work being done by peer educators being showcased. Bring it on !
And continuing on the positive theme … what a great meeting too with Elaine and Janice from Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland who are strong supporters of our BME work ; a real privilege to work with people who understand the value of this work.
And I’m looking ahead to the launch next week of the Third Sector Early Intervention Fund – a hugely important fund for ourselves and many other third sector organisations. Scotland deserves to be proud of the work of its sector organisations that we can only do with the willing and enthusiastic partnership and support of our funders.
Now… what am I doing today ?
