“Sometimes people feel like no-one’s noticed or no-one cares, but your family care, and your friends care so much about you,” is the message that Chelsea Rocks, a Young Ambassador for UK eating disorder charity B-eat, wants to get across in this video.
Filmed at B-eat’s regional headquarters in Edinburgh, three Young Ambassadors share their experiences of having – and more importantly overcoming – their eating disorders. For Chelsea, Ballari and Emma, being part of B-eat’s Young Ambassador programme is a valuable way of showing other people their age that disorders such as anorexia and bulimia are ultimately conquerable, and they hope to inspire and provide comfort to other sufferers. Aside from creating videos such as this one, the Young Ambassadors attend events and visit schools to share their stories and spread the word that help is at hand.
If you’re a young person who would like more information on eating disorders or the Young Ambassadors, don’t hesitate to visit B-eat’s online community for young people.
