Fast Forward in Perfect Partnership with Peeple!
25 February 2026

Peeple is a national UK charity that supports parents and young children to learn together, strengthening child development by building on everyday learning opportunities. With a strong evidence-base we equip professionals to empower families in creating a rich home learning environment through meaningful interactions.

We have 4 programmes, all delivered with families by Peep-trained practitioners, and our adult qualification route:
Peep Antenatal Programme supports expectant parents in bonding with their baby before birth, promoting early attachment, brain development, and responsive caregiving.
Peep Learning Together Programme is for families with children from birth to five. It increases parental confidence in supporting their child’s learning and development through play and everyday experiences. Practitioners can deliver targeted or universal Peep sessions in various settings, selecting from 74 child development topics. Practitioners can gain accreditation, supporting CPD.
Peep TALK Programme supports families in developing their child’s early communication and language through everyday conversations, stories, and play.
Peep Families Connect focuses on families and children within early primary school settings, helping parents develop practical skills to support their children’s literacy, numeracy, and emotional development. We are currently transitioning this programme from Save the Children.
Peep Progression Pathway is a qualification route for parents which links to their learning gained during Peep sessions.
We first came across Fast Forward whilst exhibiting at a Children in Scotland conference; after chatting with Donna sharing both organisations aims, we got in contact for further discussion. We spoke around how we could use our Learning Together Programme (LTP) as a vehicle to share Fast Forwards messages within early years settings. To further our collective knowledge Donna attended our LTP training for a better understanding of ways in which we could share messages with families and myself, Vivianne McWhinnie (Scotland Development Manager) and my colleague Laura Niven (Families Learning Together Manager) attended bespoke training around gambling and gaming. We also offered this out to Peep Champions within each local authority. After hearing some of the statistics and messages, one that sticks in my mind is that baby monitors advertise gambling pages, something that shocked me.
We knew we could work together to widen this message. We are now collaborating to extend the reach of Fast Forward’s message to whole teams to support the upskilling of staff’s knowledge and confidence in supporting and signposting families.
At the very least, this collaboration will build practitioners’ confidence in signposting and sharing messages with families. We hope this collaboration will go further by using our Learning Together Programme’s flexibility to share these messages within a wider range of settings.
