Introducing our Chair – Elaine Kerridge

Elaine was born in Dumfries and now lives and works in Edinburgh. She has been on the Board at Fast Forward since August 2016 and became Chair in February 2020.

 

Elaine comes with a wealth of experience, particularly with regards to young people’s health and wellbeing, rights and participation. She was a teacher for over 18 years in West Lothian – most recently she was Principal Teacher of Pupil Support at Linlithgow Academy. She also completed an eight-month secondment at Education Scotland where she was responsible for developing national guidelines and resources for practitioners, relating to Health and Wellbeing.

 

Elaine is currently Policy Manager (Participation and Engagement) with Children in Scotland. This sees her leading on direct engagement work with children and young people across Scotland on various national projects. Her role also involves training other practitioners in children’s rights and quality, ongoing engagement work.

 

In her spare time Elaine enjoys dance classes, reading and karaoke (she hasn’t told us what her go-to karaoke song is though…)
