Please join us in welcoming our newest team member, Francesca Howard, Scottish Gambling Education Hub Project Manager.
Francesca was born in Worcestershire. She taught English in Thailand right after school which set her on a path to want a career working with children and young people. She moved to Scotland for university in 2008 and completed an English Literature Degree at the University of Aberdeen. She loved Scotland so much she decided she didn’t want to leave.
On the completion of her degree she moved to Edinburgh and has worked mainly in a child protection context. She worked for the Scottish Children’s Reporters Administration and then most recently at Children 1st as part of the national Safeguarders Panel Team. Francesca brings with her a wealth of knowledge around child protection and safeguarding. Her 8 years at Children1st provided her with valuable learning and insight into child protection in a Scottish context.
In her personal life Francesca has a passion for nature. She got the travel bug early and loves to adventure both at home and abroad. She loves to walk and explore all the wonderful sights the world has to offer.
As Project Manager she is responsible for the management of the Hub.
