Shadow Board member – Tom Campbell

I’m Tom Campbell, I’m 16 years old and a student at James Gillespie’s High School in Edinburgh.

I enjoy reading and acting, and on the more active side badminton and cycling.

Why did I join the Shadow Board? I was asked to help out a friend who was working with Fast Forward a while back, and found out later about the Shadow Board- this sounded like an interesting opportunity so I decided to join.

The UK-wide mental health crisis is currently the health issue I believe is having the worst impact on young people in the UK- many sufferers of mental health issues are unwilling or unable to talk about them, and those that are able to are often unable to access proper support. These issues have only been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and the unstable and often frightening state of our world.
