Can young Scots help the country go smoke-free?
13 June 2014
At the June 6th 2014 conference, Taking the Lead: Peer led approaches for young people, Members of the Youth Commission on Smoking Prevention (#YCSP) were interviewed by journalist Catherine Hunter, a young volunteer working for Podium.me.
The members explained that the Commission, which is a project run by national Scottish organisation Young Scot, involved 17 young people who met regularly to discuss proposals to help Scotland become a smoke-free nation by 2034.
Jordan Linden, Member of Scottish Youth Parliament and of the Commission, explained: “What we are promoting is the idea that young people in Scotland can be creative thinkers, can be open to discussion, and that’s one of the key aims of Young Scot; to allow and provide that space for young people.”
