Volunteer

Our main volunteering opportunity is with our Board of Directors, however we have been supported by volunteers in a number of short-life projects.

How volunteer James worked with us:

I am coming to the end of a career as a national newspaper journalist and want to now give something back. I looked at volunteering with a number of charities that are doing some amazing work in Edinburgh but Fast Forward really stood out. (I’ve been able to use my journalism expertise to help the Marketing team with projects including the new Fast Forward website and event promotion. I’ve been able to build upon my youth work experience as taking care of our young people and helping set them off on the right path is so important and something that really resonates with me. While we can learn from yesterday and react to what’s happening today - we all have the chance to proactively do something important and positive about tomorrow.

Join our board

Our Board meets every 3 months and provides the strategic direction for the organisation. Find out more about our board here.

Youth Advisory Group

Our Youth Advisory Group meets 3-4 times / year to discuss a particular risk-taking behaviour, and ensure that our work is authentically co-created with, by and for Scotland’s children and young people.

Share your skills

Some of our volunteering opportunities have developed from an individual contacting us to see how their skills, knowledge and experience can benefit the organisation and the people we work with.

If you’d like to do the same, contact us at admin@fastforward.org.uk.
