Fran Howard
Programme Manager, Scottish Gambling Education Hub
Fran was born in Worcestershire. She taught English in Thailand right after school which set her on a path to want a career working with children and young people. She moved to Scotland for university in 2008 and fell in love with Scotland so much she decided she didn’t want to leave.
On the completion of her degree she moved to Edinburgh and has worked mainly in a child protection context. She worked for the Scottish Children’s Reporters Administration and at Children 1st as part of the national Safeguarders Panel Team. Fran brings with her a wealth of knowledge around child protection and safeguarding in a Scottish context.
In her personal life Fran has a passion for nature. She got the travel bug early and loves to adventure both at home and abroad. She loves to walk and explore all the wonderful sights the world has to offer.
