Jill Rogers
Project Officer – Scottish Gambling Education Hub
Jill began working with young people after transitioning from a youth member to youth leader for her local youth group back home in Canada. Through this, she discovered a great passion for young people’s mental health and wellness which led her to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with Honours. Jill merged this passion with another passion, travel, when she moved to Edinburgh to complete her Master of Science in Counselling Studies degree at the University of Edinburgh.
During her degree she learned different person-centred theories and techniques for working with both young people and adults that will be useful to her work as a Project Officer. Additionally, her master’s and undergraduate research background focusing on the rights of vulnerable populations showcases her dedication to harm reduction.
Throughout her year at school, Jill fell in love with Edinburgh and decided to permanently relocate. She is excited to apply her education and past experience working with young people to work with Fast Forward and do her part for the organisation.
When not at work, Jill also enjoys playing and watching football, reading, quiz nights with friends, and spending time with her pup, Trixie.
