Jonathan Bennett

Originally from Bristol, Jonathan is now based on Edinburgh and is currently Head of the School of Media, Music and Sound Production at Edinburgh College. Jonathan’s background is in music and his route into working in education was through his specialism as a composer and performer, as well as his ongoing involvement with community and charity projects.
Working in schools and colleges in England and Scotland, Jonathan has held teaching and leadership roles and is passionate about the impact he can have on the opportunities for the students, staff, and communities with whom he works. Throughout his career he has worked with and supported many charity and community organisations and views this as a core part of his role.
Jonathan is well established amongst creative and educational networks across the UK, with his most recent research interests being on influencing wider cultural policy around the arts in education. Joining the board in February 2024, Jonathan is excited to support such a meaningful and well-respected organisation, offer his expertise and wherever possible build some creative connections!
