Laura Alexander
Project Officer, Going Forward
Laura was born in Fife and now lives in Bonnyrigg. She has a degree in Community Learning and Development from Dundee University. She joined the Fast Forward team in July 2014.
Laura’s involvement in youth work began with attending local groups as a teenager. She eventually volunteered with youth clubs and moved on to working as a youth work practitioner. She has worked in both the voluntary and statutory youth work sectors.
Working with Fast Forward and covering Edinburgh and the Lothian’s has provided Laura with an opportunity to develop her skills and knowledge in youth health and wellbeing and she is now responsible for delivering various risk-taking behaviour sessions to young people.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time with her family as well as stock car racing, where she carries out fundraising activities to ensure the sport thrives.
