Shaun Horne
Shaun is from Kirkintilloch which is a town on the outskirts of Glasgow. He now currently lives in Glasgow where he is studying at the University of Glasgow doing a degree in Community Development.
He has a HNC in Working with Communities where he has done several placements working with children, young people, families and adults in either a youth work or adult education setting.
Shaun has volunteered with many charities including Children in Scotland, LGBTYS and Young Scot where he volunteered on different groups including advisory groups and projects on several topics including climate change.
He has also volunteered with Fast Forward before as a young person working with their Shadow Board and also going to the SCCR Young Person’s Conference in 2022 where he got the chance to ask the Minister for Mental Wellbeing and Social Care in 2022 questions about their work.
In his spare time Shaun likes to read, go out for walks and travel. A fun fact about him is that he has hiked up and down Ben Nevis (The highest mountain in Scotland).
Shaun is looking forward to experiencing what being a trustee is like and learning more about the duties involved within the role of trustee of Fast Forward where he has already learned more information about it through a series of coaching sessions.
