Ciao!

Gosh, it’s February already! Christmas seems just a vague memory of a past far away… What happened to your New Year Resolutions? Well done if you have been able to stay committed to them! If not, don’t lose heart – it’s never too late to pick up your New Year Resolutions again… never too late to start volunteering with Fast Forward!

The past few weeks have been an exciting time here. I’ve been meeting young people interested in becoming volunteers at Fast Forward, and we’ll start the Core Training for our new volunteers’ team at the end of February/beginning of March. It’s really inspiring for me to have the opportunity to have a cup of tea and a chat in person with our new volunteers – seeing their enthusiasm, willingness to challenge themselves, to learn new skills, to give their contribution to the community…

We have also recently had a Social Night Out with the current volunteers. It started with some games and poetry making on volunteering …brilliant rhymes! Come and visit us in the office to read them… here it is a sample:

I encourage young people to change and think independently using their imagination”

“People challenged as part of a team

Enjoying living the Fast Forward dream,

Educating young people in sessions galore

Relationships discovered, could you ask for more?”

The future looks bright for the volunteering programme at Fast Forward! It’s fantastic to see how current projects are developing thanks to our volunteers’ unique involvement and contribution.
