Volunteer Opportunities at Fast Forward

20 December 2012

Ciao! chiara

Here I am, my name is Chiara (guess where I come from!) and I am the new Volunteers’ Coordinator at Fast Forward

It’s really exciting to be part of this organisation and it’s a great time, as there are loads of projects going on and it’s amazing to see the contribution of volunteers, who constantly get involved and grow in their confidence and skills as peer educators!

Volunteering is a unique adventure, a story of giving and receiving… so in this period of exchanging Christmas gifts, why don’t you think of making a gift that is the only one of its kind: donating your time?!

Look at the people around you: running to get the last Christmas present, rushing to get the best bargains on sale, pushing to get through the crowd at the German Market… as if we never have enough time and have to be always hurrying. And at the end of the day? You probably get home tired and irritated after all this frenetic coming and going.

Stop. And imagine: what about giving yourself the breathing space to be away from all the rushing of our lives, by donating your time to others?
What about having a time away from studying and working duties, from to-do lists, from family duties, and spending instead that time with a friendly and enthusiastic team?
A time for you to learn without pressure, in an interactive and fun way, for you to get a new experience and to explore and develop your skills. And a time for others, particularly young people, who thanks to your volunteering will be supported in growing as confident individuals.

It’s Christmas: a union of giving, and receiving. Donate your time through volunteering at Fast Forward, and you will be speechless by seeing how much this experience will give back to you!

Also, at Fast Forward we have many volunteering options, to suit many interests and skills. If you are a young person aged between 16 and 25 years old, to contribute to drugs and alcohol awareness, emotional and sexual health, the No Knives Better Lives initiative, and much much more!!

If this sounds interesting and appealing to you, please get in touch and I’ll be more than happy to answer all your questions and to support you in becoming a volunteer

Wishing you a Merry Christmas,
Chiara
