Welcome to our new Trustees – introducing Heather McBain

23 September 2020

We have recently expanded our Board of Directors, with 3 new trustees joining us in September.

Today I’d like to introduce Heather McBain

At the age of 16 Heather started her career, while still at school, by becoming a young Drama teacher as part of a local community use programme.  She also became a qualified Young Leader with Girl Guiding UK , and has always loved working with young people.

After leaving school, Heather studied for undergraduate degree in Marketing at the University of Stirling. And after a few years working in the retail, leisure and hospitality sectors, moved to Edinburgh College in 2014 combining her experience of marketing with her desire to be in the education sector and work with young people again.

During her five years at Edinburgh College she worked her way up to manage the marketing, digital and graphic design team and extended her qualifications by completing a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) professional diploma.

Heather has almost a decade of experience in marketing, more recently joining The University of Edinburgh as Head of Marketing – a leadership role within the central Communications and Marketing department with a focus on student recruitment marketing and prospective student communications.

“I am really looking forward to use my experience working with the rest of the board to set the future direction of Fast Forward and make an impact on young people’s lives across the country.”
